For Windows NT/2000/XP, select My Computer on the desktop. • Select Properties Tools. • Select error checking on “Check Now”, and then a dialog on the screen appeared. Choose two check boxes and click Start to begin scanning.

After you have finished scanning the disk for errors, you can now run the disk defragmenter. To open, click Start • Programs • Accessories • System Tools • Defragmenter. Select the drive you want to defragment. The rest is automatic.

Your antivirus or anti-malware programs can not rely solely on the definition of a virus or spyware that is included in list. Malicious programs are broadcast on the Internet every day. It is therefore imperative that your security suite from the list will be updated.
